About the Court Official
Court Officials carry cases from the arrest report to a hearing. Depending on the seat you are offered, you may clerk, act as bailiff, prosecute, or defend. You work from sheriff reports, keep the file straight, and speak in court. This is courtroom roleplay, not a real court, and no law license is required or claimed.
Procedure matters more than speeches. You learn the server's penal code and how a hearing here actually runs: charges, appearances, arguments, and a record other players can read. A few hours a week, clear writing, and a microphone for court are enough to apply. Staff decide who is accepted.
What you'll do
- Case filesRead reports and evidence and prepare filings the hearing can use.
- In courtProsecute, defend, clerk, or keep order, depending on your assigned seat.
- SchedulingSet hearings and keep warrants, pleas, and outcomes on record.
- Player guidanceExplain charges, fines, and options in character, without inventing law.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Join the Rocky County RP Discord and keep direct messages open so staff can reach you.
- Have a working microphone for hearings, and be able to write clearly.
- Be able to play a few hours a week, including scheduled court when you are assigned.
- Complete the written application on this site, in your own words.
- No real-life legal qualification is required, and none is claimed. Prior court roleplay is helpful, not required.
- Be willing to learn the penal code and courtroom procedure. Staff must approve you.
How to apply
- Make sure you're in our Discord and have read the rules.
- Fill out the Court Official application.
- Wait for a response from department leadership (usually via Discord).
- If accepted, complete training and start your career in Rocky County.
